Join a fast-paced remote technology project focused on ensuring seamless and accurate enterprise data migration across modern ETL platforms. In this role, you will play a critical part in validating large-scale migration workflows, ensuring data quality, transformation accuracy, and functional consistency between legacy and cloud-based integration systems. You’ll work closely with ETL developers, data engineers, database specialists, and business stakeholders to test and optimize complex data pipelines in a collaborative and delivery-focused environment. This position offers the opportunity to apply advanced SQL expertise and ETL testing knowledge while contributing directly to high-impact migration initiatives. Accountabilities:
- Design and execute comprehensive testing strategies, test plans, and test cases for ETL migration projects.
- Validate end-to-end data migration workflows, including source-to-target mappings, business rules, transformations, aggregations, and data integrity.
- Perform detailed SQL-based validation and reconciliation between legacy ETL outputs and newly migrated cloud-based data pipelines.
- Develop and execute advanced SQL queries to verify joins, filters, aggregations, row counts, and transformation logic.
- Test ETL workflows, taskflows, schedules, dependencies, restartability, and exception handling processes.
- Identify, document, analyze, and track defects, inconsistencies, and data quality issues using defect management tools.
- Collaborate closely with ETL developers, DBAs, data engineers, and business stakeholders to resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Validate system performance, scalability, and operational reliability to ensure migrated workflows meet or exceed existing standards.
- Create and maintain testing documentation including test cases, validation reports, test execution results, and sign-off documentation.
- Provide regular project updates, testing metrics, and issue reports to project leadership and stakeholders.
- Strong experience testing ETL/ELT processes and enterprise data warehouse solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Pentaho Data Integration (PDI) and/or Informatica Cloud Data Integration (CDI).
- Advanced SQL scripting and validation skills, including joins, subqueries, aggregates, and window functions.
- Experience validating and reconciling data across relational database systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, or equivalent platforms.
- Solid understanding of data integration concepts including source-to-target mappings, transformations, lookups, and slowly changing dimensions.
- Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis capabilities.
- Ability to work independently in remote and fast-paced project environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with technical and business stakeholders.
