About the Role
As a Data Operations Engineer you will own the end-to-end data lifecycle of one or more Apixio’s products. This will be an automation-focused role and you will work side-by-side with other engineers on integration and maintenance of the data platforms, developing solutions to streamline our Data Operations efforts.
Who You Are
Daily responsibilities include Operations, Development, and Management of key system areas including:

Manage all data aspects of a customer engagement from initial contact and data receipt to mapping and loading data into the Apixio data pipeline, and final project reporting.

Streamline customer data acquisition with Apixio Infostream product.

Collaborating across disciplines, you will identify internal/external data sources to design and implement table structure, data products, ETL strategy, automation frameworks and scalable data pipelines

Provide timely and consistent updates and recommendations on Data Operational issues and improvements to customers

Setup goals to effectively increase service quality to meet business and operations requirements

Setting up monitoring tools and systems to track data-related metrics such as data throughput, latency, and error rates.Â

Maintain the Logging, Dashboarding and Monitoring Infrastructure.

Work hands on with the Data Integration team to define and develop tools for the efficient tracking and processing of customer data

Monitoring data pipelines and systems for anomalies or performance degradation and implementing alerting mechanisms to notify stakeholders of any issues.

Working closely with cross-functional teams including data engineers, customer success teams and business analysts to understand data requirements, prioritize tasks, and ensure alignment with objectives.Â

Communicating effectively with stakeholders to provide updates, gather feedback, and address concerns related to data operations.

Being on standby/oncall to promptly respond to alerts, notifications, or escalations related to failures, performance issues and other operational disruptions. This may involve diagnosing the root cause of incidents, implementing temporary workarounds, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to restore service stability.
What You Bring to the Table:
    Must Haves
-
4-6+ years of work experience in healthcare business analysis and/or software development. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.

Strong technical knowledge of data transformation techniques and tools, as well as knowledge of shell script, Python 3.x, APIs, and SDKs.

Proficient in ETL methodologies and any tools such as Databricks, PySpark.

Understand Big data architecture and Experience Managing big data platforms.Â

Expertise in SQL, MySQL, Cassandra and other database technologies.

Exceptional planning and organizational skills to work on multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines.

Hands-On Experience Using Terminal and Unix Environment

Experience in establishing, implementing, and socializing analytics best practices with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
-
Proven experience conceptualizing, building and monitoring dashboards and alerting systems to monitor ETL pipelines.

Demonstrated ownership of projects or feature sets.

Strong communication skills to relay complex data integration requirements to team members and customers

Knowledge of healthcare standards including but not limited to CCD/CDA/CCR, FHIR and HL7
Nice to Haves

Masters degree in information technology, computer science, software engineering, or data science preferred

Healthcare Domain expertise

Experience in DataBricks and DBT is a plus

Experience in specific EHR Systems is a plus
-
Experience in Healthcare Integration Engines like QIE, Mirth etc. is a plus

Become an expert on Medicare Advantage 1st and 2nd pass payer projects

After 12 months you will have accomplished:

Successfully completing projects assigned throughout the year, meeting deadlines, and delivering high-quality deliverables that meets requirements.

The salary range below is for Base Salary. Total compensation also includes benefits and variable compensation.  Compensation will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, skill set, years of experience, and the employee’s geographic location.
Base Compensation
$100,000—$140,000 USD
