The Opportunity
DAT is looking for a Data Operations Specialist to join our team in Denver, Colorado.
Candidate profile
The Data Operations Specialist is responsible for managing the customer contribution process as it relates to data submission from the customer to DAT. This position plays a key role in customer success as well as data management and should be an exceptional communicator with the ability to foster positive business relationships.
What you’ll do:
- Act as the project manager for new customer onboarding
- Receive initial communication from sales and manage the contribution case
- Initiate customer communication and set up onboarding
- Conducts the onboarding call with new customers and establishes the data relationship
- Collects information from new customers regarding their operations and captures aspects about their operations that will impact the data. Must be able to understand transportation and the norms of transactional data in order to facilitate the discussion and discovery phase.
- Sets up the ftp or box account & communicates that to the customer
- Monitors the timeline for initial data submission
- Collects sample data & sends to the data operations production team
- Conducts a validation meeting with the customer and reviews the validation report that is created by the production team. May be required to review, analyze, and create the validation report if the data analyst is unavailable.
- Monitors the case until recurring submission is established & escalates to sales as needed
- Own the customer relationship regarding contributions and work with the production team to manage ongoing submissions
- Communicates with customers regarding submissions that stop occurring and works with them to re-establish the contribution
- Supports the production team in handling errors that require customer contact by acting as the escalation point and liaison with sales as needed
Skills and Experience Needed:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
- 2 years of data analytics skills required to create, interpret, and explain data visualizations to an internal or external customer (What does the data mean and not just “this is what it is”)
- Excellent communication skills necessary for instilling confidence and satisfaction from the DAT customer base
- Enjoys detail and process-oriented tasks
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience being part of highly functional and fast-paced teams
- Advanced Microsoft Excel experience required (Pivot tables, vlookups, charts/graphs)
- Beginner Tableau experience preferred (Import data, build visualizations, and dashboards)
- Business experience in the transportation industry and/or data management preferred
For Colorado-based candidates, in compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the minimum salary for this role is $80,000.00 + benefits. The maximum compensation for this role can vary significantly depending on your job-related skills and experience. DAT considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education and training, core skills, internal equity, and market and business elements when extending an offer.
