Are you someone who is passionate about building scalable data products, working directly and deeply with business and technology stakeholders, defining a roadmap and executing on it with cross-functional teams? If so, this may be the role you are looking for! You will work closely with stakeholders, product owners, business systems analysts, and analytics teams to understand data requirements, identify potential solutions, and develop high-quality data solutions. You will participate in defining architecture and modeling best practices within the team, and will use your expertise in data management concepts, practices, and procedures to plan and accomplish goals.

What are we looking for?

  • This Data Product Owner must work closely with local, regional, global, and other key stakeholders within the business Supply, Demand, R&D, and Mars DT to ensure that the right data products are being developed and delivered in support of Royal Canin strategic goals. In addition, partner with external resources and thought partners to identify new capabilities and products to assist in the delivery of the value to the organization.

    To achieve its ambition to be the reference in pet health, Royal Canin wants to continue to push the barriers of nutrition, individualization, data use, and ecosystem activations. The digital transformation is driving both new opportunities to serve more pets but also new challenges for our existing business models. The Create the New team is a small, high-profile team reporting to the General Manager for the US Veterinarian Business. This team works hand in hand with stakeholders across the Mars Ecosystem to drive internal startup, development, and incubation of new business capabilities. Within the business, Create the New is responsible for providing strategic thought leadership by working collaboratively with colleagues across all areas of the business to develop new capabilities to meet future needs.

    In this acceleration context, Create the New is team is seeking an individual who will leverage their experience and excitement for data to act as a Data Product Owner.

    To be a successful Data Product Owner within Create the New, you will be expected to be comfortable getting into and leading data discussions, understanding data concepts around marketing campaigns, customer 360, media data, and leads data to drive data product design and implementations. Additionally, you will have to have a working knowledge of data platforms, cloud data lakes and be very comfortable to query and analyze data from various internal and external data ecosystem.

    The ideal candidate has a strong digital background and demonstrated ability to deliver scalable digital data solutions consisting of wide breadth of data sources. Strong knowledge of MarTec and digital marketing ecosystem across a variety of technology and subject matters is preferred. Global experience a plus. A proven track record of implementing cloud-oriented data solutions is a must. Knowledge and expertise of Marketing is preferable (email, CMS, AdTech, websites, etc.)

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Owns the close link with Royal Canin global project teams (core solution and deploy teams)
  • Ensure Create the New stays at the cutting edge of data opportunity identification - feed the pipeline
  • Ensure that the required business change is implemented effectively with minimal business disruption
  • Lead the design, planning, prioritization, and execution of Royal Canin and its online partner marketing data products that integrates complex data into analytics and operational ready data assets
  • Work with digital technology, marketing operations, and analytics team to capture data use cases and opportunities to drive the vision and roadmap for Royal Canin and the Mars ecosystem
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements for marketing campaigns, programs, and initiatives. Appropriately prioritize and embed the requirements into data solutions and products
  • Translate requirements of large data initiatives into smaller actionable data product features and stories to drive the overall data product(s) roadmap
  • Manage and oversee the development and implementation of marketing data products within the team, ensuring that they meet customer needs and are scalable and reliable
  • Monitor data product performance and customer satisfaction metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimization
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices related to marketing data products and leverage this knowledge to inform product strategy and development
