Data QA

Job brief

We are looking for a Data QA with experience in testing high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications. You will be part of a talented software team that works on mission-critical applications. You will be responsible for testing Hadoop Ecosystem solutions while providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle.

Roles and responsibilities

• Creation of test designs, test processes, test cases and test data.
• Carry out testing as per the defined procedures.
• Participate in walkthroughs of testing procedures.
• Prepare all reports related to software testing carried out.
• Ensure that all tested related work is carried out as per the defined standards and procedures.
• Generate traceability matrices all the way from user stories or business requirements to automated testcases.

Technical Skills:

• Must have 5+ Years of experience in application testing and testing methodologies with primary focus in Automation testing.
• Prepare test cases & scenarios for all modules. - This involves brainstorming and understanding requirements
• Proficiency in SQL and Data Testing.
• Work Experience in Hadoop Distribution – CDP, HIVE, PYSPARK, IMPALA, SQOOP
• Work experience in executing Python and Shell Scripting.
• Executing Test cases – Validations of test cases, manually comparing the results on both environments and identify potentials defects.
• Perform testing on data ingestion pipelines for variety of data sources: batch
• Perform testing on Datawarehouse loads and Reports generated out of the Datawarehouse data.
• Provide testing artifacts and signoff.
• Understanding of the Testing/QA concepts i.e. test cases, defects, requirement traceability matrix.
• Good knowledge of Hadoop and Statistics.

• Good knowledge in Backend Databases (Oracle, SQL)

• Define, develop, maintain, report and execute manual / automation tests for basic, regression, load & performance related.
• Familiarity with - JMeter, Selenium, Selenium Web driver, JIRA
• Ability to design and develop test automation frameworks
• Experience working in an Agile environment, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional testing skills. Provide good attention to details.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
