Supports and oversees the design, development, testing, change control, implementation, and maintenance of risk data, analytic, and reporting structures in support of group functions including portfolio monitoring, advanced analytics, process automation, and reporting.
Accountabilities:
- Acts as a trusted technical advisor to assigned business/group.
- Influences and negotiates to achieve business objectives.
- Recommends and implements solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business.
- Assists in the development of strategic plans.
- Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.
- Researches existing or emerging requirements & related best practices to assist and develops recommendations for changes/enhancements.
- Helps determine business priorities and best sequence for execution of business/group strategy.
- Conducts independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues.
- Supports the planning and execution of system management infrastructure planning and development activities.
- Represents the risk systems management function during internal/external regulatory audits and/or examinations.
- Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
- Builds change management plans of varying scope and type; leads or participates in a variety of change management activities including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives.
- Guides/assists in the identification and classification of issues; recommends action plans.
- Provides input into the planning and implementation of ongoing operational programs in support of the risk systems management.
- Leads/participates in the design, implementation and management of core business/group processes.
- Monitors the risk system technical infrastructure, applications and/or business transactions across the environment.
- Collaborates with Technology service providers and other stakeholders to investigate, perform root cause analysis and plan corrective actions; follows production environment support processes and guidelines.
- Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on business objectives.
- Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
- Tracks metrics and milestones, makes recommendations for resolution and escalates as appropriate when issues arise.
- Analyzes data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
- Supports the data reconciliation / provisioning processes between core risk systems.
- Performs verification and monitoring activities for all changes implemented in the production environments.
- Supports the development and maintenance of system and process documentation / process controls / knowledge assets required for the operation.
- Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus.
- Provides specialized consulting, analytical and technical support.
- Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
- Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.
- Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience with banking/financial services experience preferred.
- BS/BA or MBA/MS degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or math, OR applicable work experience.
- Intermediate knowledge of SQL for writing queries and working with relational databases.
- Experience with SAS or displayed ability to learn different coding languages.
- Experience working with business intelligence visualization tools such as Tibco Spotfire, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
- Technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.

Compensation and Benefits:
$73,200.00 - $104,550.00
The base salary represents BMO Financial Group's hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked.
Base salary is one component of BMO Financial Group's total compensation package for employees, which may include performance-based incentives, commissions or discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
