Job Summary: 

 The Data Science and Software Engineer Specialist will possess expertise in building models that solve key business challenges and enhance customer experiences. This position has expertise in machine learning (including generative AI and large language models), data science, and Python software development. This position also uses advanced statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms. 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and provide data-driven insights.  
• Contribute to the design and development of software solutions, ensuring code quality and maintainability.  
• Develop and implement machine learning models and algorithms to solve complex business problems for customers as needed.  
• Work closely with customers to gather requirements, address concerns, and deliver tailored solutions.  
• Contribute to product and platform development.  
• Collaborate on open-source projects, sharing knowledge and contributing to the community.  
• Utilize Git for version control and collaborative software development.  

Required Skills & Abilities: 

• Proficient in Python programming with a focus on software development best practices.  
• Strong experience with Git for version control in a collaborative environment. 
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers and cross-functional teams. 
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
• Willingness to learn and keep up to date on existing and emerging technologies.  
• Experience and understanding of cloud computing technologies, especially AWS and Azure.  
• Strong preference for candidates who have experience deploying or managing generative AI solutions.   

Education & Experience: 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.  
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in machine learning, data science, and software development.  
• Experience contributing to and/or managing open-source projects.  
• Experience in Financial Services, Healthcare Technology Management, or Federal domains.  

Physical Requirements: 

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
