Data Science Intern

About the Role:

The data analytics intern program at Sezzle exposes students to all the newest technologies. You’ll get exposure to python modules such as pygsheeets, psycopg2, pymysql, pandas, and more. You will learn how to automate populating a scorecard (spreadsheet with kpis, and you will get practice writing sql queries to an Amazon Redshift database with billions of rows. As a data analytics intern in the decision sciences department, you will be at the center of decision making at Sezzle.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing insights from sales, marketing, and finance data for internal stakeholders 
• Create key performance indicators to monitor the health of the company
• Create alerts to notify stakeholders of significant changes in health metrics

Minimum Requirements:

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of coursework completed (must be a current senior pursuing an undergraduate degree).
• Must reside in the Minneapolis, MN area / be able to commute to office.

Ideal Skills & Experience:

• SQL
• Python
• Relational databases
• Data visualization tools
• Google sheets/ Excel
• Pursuing a degree in Data Science, MIS or related field 
• GPA 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale preferred

Compensation

The compensation range for the role is $18 - 25 / hour. Our ranges are very broad to accommodate all types of candidates and encourage growth. Specific compensation offered to a candidate may be dependent on factors such as education, experience, qualifications, and alignment with market data. Exceptional candidates may receive salaries outside of the posted ranges.
