Position Title: Data Science Intern

Role

As a data science intern working within the Crown Castle Enterprise Data Management team, you will work alongside other data engineers and data scientists to develop cloud data pipelines, create predictive models, conduct statistical data analysis, visualize data, and perform other tasks related to the creation, support, and delivery of data driven insights.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business problems and create data solutions.
• Create big-data pipelines to feed machine learning algorithms.
• Deploy machine-learning models to production and monitor them over time.
• Process and clean large datasets into a format suitable for machine learning.
• Participate in agile process meetings, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint review and retrospectives.
• Write user stories for requested features and projects, based on conversations with stakeholders and team members.
• Write code to satisfy requirements provided in user stories.
• Submit code for code reviews and comment & ask questions in code reviews of others' code.

Education/Certifications

• Currently enrolled in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited higher education institution
• Preferred field(s) of study: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics

Experience/Minimum Requirements

• Authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time, regular basis without additional sponsorship
• Basic proficiency with a modern programming language (python, pyspark, scala preferred)

Reports to: Senior Manager, Data Science

Work Plans: This role falls into our hybrid work model working in your assigned office approximately 60% of the time (3 days per week) and where you do your best work 40% (2 days per week).
