Position Summary

Your focus for this position will be to research and develop prototypes leveraging the most effective statistical or machine learning model to enhance our detection engine to anticipate the evolution of attack strategies with high accuracy. 

Responsibilities

• Work with the product management team to review and refine requirements and expected outcomes to build the next-generation fraud detection and identity protection product
• Research and develop new ML models as necessary to meet agreed-upon product requirements and goals
• Develop prototypes as needed to simulate the outcome of new models, assess effectiveness to justify the development efforts
• Work with product architects and engineering managers throughout the product development life cycle
• Evaluate the accuracy of existing detection methods and propose enhancements as needed
• Get involved in customer calls on occasion to discuss future product directions
• Work with the Customer Success team to assist as needed with complex escalation, training on new detection methods, and best practices for effectively defending against attacks
• Participate in product evangelization efforts through security conferences to increase awareness of online fraud and abuse

Must Haves

• 2+ years of industry experience in predictive modeling, data science, and analysis
• Strong Python coding skills
• Proficient with SQL
• Effective oral and written communication to peers, leadership, and both technical and non-technical audiences
• Self-motivated with demonstrated problem-solving skills
• Ability to adapt quickly and constructively to changes

Nice to have:

• Bachelor or Master's Degree in a highly quantitative field (Computer Science, Machine Learning, Operational Research, Statistics, Mathematics, etc.) 
• Experience working for a high-growth startup and fast pace environment
• Experience working with web security products to protect against bots, fraud, abuse, or adjacent fields
• Previous experience in an ML or data scientist role and experience building ML or DL models deployed to production
• Understanding of the world wide web ecosystem, including protocols (HTTP, DNS), coding (HTML, JS, CSS), issues around privacy
