Join the Data Science team, where you will bring your machine learning, advanced analytics, and applied research skills to bear on solving problems of critical national importance. The successful candidate for this position is an early career data scientist who combines a solid theoretical and technical background with the ability to formulate problems, develop and evaluate solutions, and communicate results. Familiarity with advanced data science techniques and methods (e.g., supervised and unsupervised machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning) is a plus. Hands-on software development skills are a must. The successful candidate for this position is a data scientist who is familiar with machine learning techniques (e.g., supervised, and unsupervised machine learning), data visualization, and statistical analysis and has hands-on data science skills in addition to being a lifelong learner keeping up with the latest research and technologies in this field.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Apply a variety of data science techniques to tackle customer challenges to include machine learning, statistical models, predictive analytics, optimization, risk analysis, and data visualization
• Apply data science rigor throughout the machine learning lifecycle to ensure reproducibility and trustworthiness.
• Contribute to the development, test, and evaluation of machine learning solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Typically requires less than 1 year of related experience with a related bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
• Hands on experience using machine learning and statistical techniques and tools. Hands on proficiency using data science techniques, including machine learning, deep learning, or reinforcement learning
• Experience using existing AI framework (e.g., TensorFlow, Caffe, MXNet, Cognitive Toolkit, Torch)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or related field
• Experience applying deep learning techniques
• Knowledge of MLOps, particularly in the AWS environment
• Possess an active US Government clearance
