As a Data Scientist at 1904labs, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our clients' businesses by leveraging their data to provide analytical and data science services. You will be responsible for conceptualizing and executing projects from start to finish, identifying the appropriate data and methodologies to use to answer business questions using best practices and innovative approaches.

We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and has a drive to learn new technologies and frameworks. You should be comfortable working collaboratively with engineering teams to achieve project deliverables and have experience working in an agile development environment. You should also have experience with software engineering and developing deployable API services.

• Experience coding in an object-oriented language suited for machine learning systems such as Python (not reliant on GUI-based systems to execute analysis) for the purpose of cleaning, manipulating, visualizing, and analyzing data

• Proficient knowledge of linear algebra, statistics, probability, and numerical analysis.

• Experience working with data to perform operations such as Extract-Transform-Load, data manipulation for analysis, data visualization, etc.

• 2+ years of professional experience with data analysis techniques such as:

  • Hypothesis testing, time series analysis, computational simulation, exploratory analysis, clustering, etc.

• Proficient with Machine Learning Analysis: Execute, evaluate, and apply various models such as:

  • Logistic regression, random forests/decision tree, nearest neighbors, neural net, support vector machine, an ensemble of multiple models, etc.

As a Data Scientist and Consultant at 1904labs, you will have the opportunity to make an impact in several ways:

• Collaborate with intensely curious and innovative teammates to implement data science algorithms as scalable, hosted services while maintaining and enriching productive relationships with client-side data scientists and data professionals.

• Conceptualize and execute projects from start to finish, starting with identifying the appropriate data and methodologies to use, executing those all the way through delivery of insights, and deploying reusable code to a production environment.

• Play a critical role in helping our clients make data-led decisions, enabling them to improve their businesses and make a meaningful impact on their bottom line.

• Help create inclusive, equitable, and user-friendly software & data solutions that empower diverse communities and deliver high value to our clients.

• Attend Agile ceremonies and other meetings to collaborate with your team, divide up user stories, and solve problems based on your individual skills.

• Perform data analysis, build Machine Learning models, and/or deploy data science code to a production environment.

• Develop dashboard-style visualizations (ex: Tableau or PowerBI)

• For any analysis or dashboard, explain the analysis process, translate results into actionable insights, and build presentations or documents to communicate insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Work with open-source analysis and machine learning packages and libraries, building custom utilities in Python.

• Create and maintain documentation to ensure a smooth workflow, knowledge sharing, and efficiency.
