Mission Focus: Risk analysis and alternatives development for military logistics accounting for disruptive events.

Location: Vienna, VA with remote flexibility

Responsibilities: 

As a mid-level data scientist, you will:

• Work in a cross-functional software development and product development team to build code to analyze data and execute the data analysis
• Design a simulation for logistics in a disruptive environment, and execute optimization algorithms to identify logistics options and assess risk
• Assist in identifying alternative solutions to logistic options
• Integrate code into existing code base to include execution of risk analysis and options identification through a GUI
• Conduct data analysis on a variety of data sets across the spectrum of niche data set and big data sets
• Develop algorithms to efficiently process data, executed standardized analysis, and create reports
• Develop and execute machine learning algorithms for identification (labeling problems)
• Develop and execute clustering algorithms on object based data sets
• Develop and execute algorithms to identify relationships across data sets
• Model processes for data ingestion, storage, analysis, and reporting
• Construct data environments to execute quick turn data on analysis on a variety of data sets
• Support to writing Data Science related project proposals
• Engagement in solutioning sessions
• Drafting portions of the technical sections of a project proposal

Required Qualifications:

Experience and education:

• 5+ years experience
• BA or BS in a quantitative field

Data Science skills

• Coding proficiency with at least python or java
• Proficient in basic statistics (summary statistics, linear regression, non-parametric summary statistics)
• Proficient in writing and executing basic SQL queries
• Experience in executing optimization or building simulations for a government or corporate product
• Experience in producing and presenting data analysis products
• Experience executing supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms

Process skills

• Ability to multi-task and guide junior data scientists
• Familiarity with DevOps processes
• Familiarity with code versioning tools such as git

Preferred Qualifications:

Data Science skills

• Experience in object-oriented programming
• Coding experience 3 or the following: java, python, SQL, R, GO, Julia
• Experience with processing big data (high volume or streaming)
• Experience in the following required task areas: machine learning, statistical modeling, time-series forecasting, and/or geospatial analytic

Process skills

• Experience with local development
• Familiarity with agile methodology
• Understanding of cloud development concepts

Physical Requirements: 

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer 

Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at time
