At NICE-Mattersight, Data Scientists serve as subject matter experts on the application of statistics and machine learning in NICE-Mattersight products. Data Scientists conduct research, create internal and external software products, and execute and fine-tune existing methodology.Â

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Explore high-level, undefined ideas and business problems using structured and unstructured dataÂ
• Develop product offerings through careful consideration of business value and data analysisÂ
• Improve internal processes and tools to increase efficiency
• Spur future product innovation
• Manipulate and analyze complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sourcesÂ
• Analyze, report, and present on findings and behavioral trendsÂ
• Drive the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sourcesÂ
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES
• 3+ years of data science work experienceÂ
• Degree with a concentration in a quantitative disciplineÂ
• Advanced knowledge of statistics
• Advanced knowledge with a variety of Machine Learning algorithms
• Strong competence in R or python
• Familiarity with relational databases and query languages (e.g. MSSQL)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, listening skills, and effective presentation skillsÂ
• Ability to impress internal teams and positively influence third-party partners and customers
NICE TO HAVES
• Experience in developing and deploying predictive model pipelines
• Expertise with Big Data technologies (e.g. PySpark)
• Past participation in a formal research setting
• Experience as a part of a software organization
