Responsibilities

Job Description:

The Data Scientist will support several diverse and critical functions, including the operation of a research and development lab on-site in downtown Tampa, FL. The client responds to the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community's toughest problems by providing prototypes and methodologies for execution. A primary responsibility is to rapidly prototype large datasets and provide in-depth analysis of complex national security threats.

Duties will include support to one or more of the areas listed below:

• Review requirements, set priorities, and resourcing for space system sustainment and mission support functions
• Provide guidance, assistance, and subject matter expertise for mission sustainment and logistics to COO and the Space Staff
• Represent Garrison support functions for Air Force (AF) readiness matters
• Monitor, assess and advocate for installation infrastructure health and Emergency Management readiness
• Interface with client to work installation support activities with garrison commands
• Represent service issues, supply chain concerns, and facility resourcing

Job Duties Include (but not limited to):

• Develop and implement a set of techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software
• Apply data mining, data modeling, natural language processing and machine learning to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets
• Visualize, interpret and report data findings and create dynamic data reports

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

• 3-10 years' experience.
• Due to US Government Contract Requirements, only US Citizens are eligible for this role.

Desired Skills:

• Experience working with the Department of Defense and or IC
• Experience in data analysis and reporting
• Prefer hands-on experience programming / scripting languages: Python, php, MATLAB
• Experience working with large data sets and with distributed computing technologies such as MapReduce/Hadoop
• Experience with search and reporting tools such as Apache Spark, Jasper, Pentaho or similar
• Ability to communicate data analysis results in a clear and concise manner to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences.
• Must be able to define and document appropriate advanced analytic methods, predictive analysis, pattern analysis, and the like
• Unit testing and associated frameworks
• Specializations in graph, visualizations or ML

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor's in Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience desired

Security Clearance:

• TS/SCI clearance required.
