Data Scientist 

Job Location: Helsinki, Finland

The Data Scientist would work in cooperation with the Elekta engineering team and product management to build production grade machine learning systems and to draw insights from data to benefit users including both cancer patients and health care professionals. 

What you’ll do at Elekta 

Would you like to be part of our driven global team, where we aim to attract and invite the best competences to Elekta? We are offering you an exciting opportunity to join our engineering team at Helsinki (Finland), which is currently a team of seven team members. 

In this exciting and diverse role, you will participate in Elekta machine learning and data science related R&D activities including academic research conducted jointly with partner clinics and hospitals.  

Responsibilities 

• Developing Elekta’s machine learning capabilities. 

• Participating in product development with the Engineering team. 

• Participating in company’s data science research, development, verification and validation work. 

• Participating in joint academic research with partners – as needed. 

What you bring 

• Earlier experience in the field of data science, especially in machine learning from concepts to implementation. 

• Experience with Python and libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn and Flask. 

• Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or another quantitative field.  

• Understanding of modern software development tools and technologies.  

• Fluency in English written & verbal.
