Who We Are:

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is looking for a motivated data scientist to join our team supporting our customer in the development of technological-enabled system advancements.

From harvesting data & schema design to data migration and analytical support; we are looking for talent that learns rapidly & holds the ability to define and enhance processes. Position is remote.

What You Will Do:

• Identify valuable data sources and automate mining/collection processes.
• Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data.
• Analyze large amounts of data/information to discover and articulate trends and patterns.
• Design custom tools to optimize data mining, cleaning, validation and analysis tasks.
• Develop tools and testing models to ensure data accuracy.
• Create and present reports that detail your findings, recommendations and solutions.
• Creating new, experimental frameworks to collect data.
• Develop tools to automate data collection.

What We're Looking For:

• 0 years experience with Bachelors in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.
• Experience with business intelligence and data analytical tools
• Proficient technical writing and public speaking skills
• Familiarity with statistical and data mining techniques and when it is appropriate to use them
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Continually seeks education by pursuing and maintaining certifications and keeping current with technology and industry trends
• Entrepreneurial spirit
• Experience working in an agile environment
• Analyzing software requirements

Preferred Requirements

• Certifications or experience in project management or software development
• Experience supporting digital transformation of workflows and business processes.
• Ability to work in an agile environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving ability.
• Strong focus with the ability to retain information.
• The ability to work well with others, while fostering a team approach for solution development.
• Experience in a prior technical position (developer, technical support, quality assurance) is a plus.
• Self starter with an above average understanding of mechanical integrity data management systems.
