Our data is managed via AWS (e.g., S3, Redshift). We typically interact with the data using a blend of programming and query languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R). We run experiments using cloud computing services (e.g., EC2) or local machines.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement machine learning algorithms and statistical models for predictive modeling, and clinical decision support

• Conduct data exploration, feature engineering, and data preprocessing to prepare data for analysis and modeling. Evaluate model performance and conduct validation tests to improve accuracy and relevance

• Develop and execute advanced analytics initiatives end to end (e.g. predictive modeling, causal inference, experimentation design, NLP etc.)

• Present insights and research to stakeholders, and build lasting partnerships to deliver solutions that positively impact our members and providers
• Help us build responsible algorithms that are fair to our members and their communities
• Balance handling ad hoc requests while also driving larger projects

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Two (2) years of experience using data science tools like SQL, R or Python
• Prior work or academic experience applying statistical and machine learning methods
• Familiarity with cloud technologies
• Continuous Learning Mindset

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Data Science, Math, Statistics etc.)

• Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking abilities, and capacity to approach complex healthcare challenges with innovative data-driven solutions

• Advanced proficiency in writing complex SQL queries across large data sets

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R and data manipulation libraries like pandas, Numpy

• Knowledge of AWS or other cloud computing technologies

• Expertise in statistics and experimentation design

• Knowledge of or previous work experience in health care of health insurance
