Caterpillar's Treasury Technology Team, within Corporate Treasury, a dynamic and global organization which leverages expertise in core Treasury processes and applies technology and innovative solutions to provide valued services across the Caterpillar enterprise, is uniquely positioned to be at the cutting edge of Treasury Technology and is looking to hire a Data Scientist to join the team. In joining the team, you will have the opportunity to:

• Performing analytical tasks and initiatives on large amounts of Treasury data to support fact based, data-driven business decisions and development
• Directing the data gathering, data mining, and data processing in large volume; creating appropriate data models.
• Exploring, promoting, and implementing semantic data capabilities through Natural Language Processing, text analysis and machine learning techniques
• Leading to define requirements and scope of data analyses; presenting and reporting possible business insights to management using data visualization technologies.
• Conducting research on data model optimization and algorithms to improve effectiveness and accuracy on data analyses.

Skills that will help in the role include:

• Working knowledge of Business Statistics, Machine Learning, Programming Language, Query/Database Tools and Requirement Analysis

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in statistics, economics, mathematics or similar field with quantitative course work
• 4-5 years of professional experience utilizing quantitative analysis
• Exhibited the ability to work on increasingly more complex assignments
• Production-level coding and development skills in Python and SQL
• High degree of proficiency with Power BI, including administration and DAX Scripting
• Experience of writing infrastructure as code (IaC) using AWS CloudFormation is a BIG plus.

Desired Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience
• Effective communication, problem solving and analytical skills
• Data aptitude and an interest in the financial technology industry
• Highly motivated and able to demonstrate initiative, leadership, and decision-making skills
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly while managing competing priorities
• Deliver high quality user training and business process support
