Data Scientist, Search

Material Bank is seeking motivated and creative data science talent to join our team and lead data analysis efforts that guide the development of Material Bank search functions. As our Data Scientist, Search you along with the rest of you team hold huge role in creating an amazing experience for our members. You will not only work with your Search Team, but also various Product and Engineering teams. Your strong communication skills are a must for this role. What you’ll do:

• Collect, organize, interpret, and summarize statistical data to contribute to the design and development of Material Bank web properties
• Apply expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to explain user interactions
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities
• Inform, influence, support, and execute our product decisions and product launches

What you’ll bring:

• 5+ years of work experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation.
• Requires a Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Applied Sciences, or a related field
• Worked with Quantitative analysis including data mining on highly complex data sets
• Knowledge in data querying languages, such as SQL, scripting languages, such as Python, or statistical or mathematical software, such as R, SAS, or MATLAB,
• Experience with Kibana
• Applied statistics or experimentation, such as A/B testing
• Strong Interpersonal skills
• Experience with machine learning techniques, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and Relational databases
• Used to Large-scale data processing infrastructures using distributed systems
• Know quantitative analysis techniques, including clustering, regression, pattern recognition, or descriptive and inferential statistics
