Job Description:
The Data Sr. Analyst role is critical member of the Premises Operations team responsible for efforts to develop insights for Customer Premise Equipment (CPE). In this role, you will validate data sources, build data sets and visualized representations of CPE performance. You will validate metrics, combine datasets, monitor data quality, analyze data, provide standard and adhoc reports, and interpret results. Collaborating with internal stakeholders, you'll provide regular updates on Customer Premise Equipment performance for Residential and Business services that will drive improved efficiency and impact. Very strong Tableau skills, SQL and storytelling is a critical function of this position, including summarizing complex analytics into actionable recommendations for operations improvements, including CPE capital expenditure drivers.
This role requires someone who is eager to learn and willing to develop business acumen and new technical skills and techniques quickly. The ideal candidate is someone who has strengths in one or more of these areas and is looking to expand them.
Reporting Development
- Leads efforts in the development of data logic and implementation of data monitoring, visualization and measurement systems for Customer Premise Equipment.
- Lead the analysis, design, and implementation of frequent adhoc reporting needs to improve business processes and/or customer experience for Premises Engineering team.
- Build, Review, test, and debug dashboard design plans in pre-production environments (e.g. QA and UAT) to ensure requirements are met, and RTM is maintained.
- Provide project status (e.g., progress, issues, dependencies, and risks).
- Creates customer facing reports through our analytics tools.
- Create and automate reports for internal customers using a separate set of tools including executive level Customer Premise Equipment monthly operating metrics.
- Develops reports and data visualizations to present insights in the most effective way for decision making.
- Coordinates data feeds and sources additional data required for analysis.
- Determines the value of new internal and external data sources.
- Merges disparate data sets and transforms the data to derive metrics and usable information.
Information and Data Analysis
- Superior Tableau skills (Visualization and Prep) demonstrated by certifications and work product combined with the ability to automate storytelling integrating Tableau with Power point by sharing complex data conclusions in a simple and meaningful manner.
- Performs data analysis and validation.
- Translates data into meaningful insights.
- Mines and interprets data.
- Monitors and provides insight into key metrics, including metric performance.
- Handles data preparation and analysis for various projects.
- Writes, maintains, and updates SQL queries in response to questions from internal customers.
- Assists development teams in creating and maintaining data reporting models.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 4 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 2 years' experience; a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience; or 8 years' experience in a related field
- Demonstrated experience and certification working with SQL on Relational Databases (i.e., Snowflake and Oracle).
- Demonstrated experience and certification working with reporting tools (i.e., Tableau, Tableau Prep and Power Bi).
- Experience with languages for data analysis (i.e., Python and R).
- Must be a self-starter/curious - requirements for a project are not always clear and the person needs to be proactive in getting questions answered.
- Proven ability to deliver high levels of internal customer service.
- Experience working with large scale disparate datasets.
- Experience presenting data to leadership for decision making.
- Excellent problem solving and prioritization skills with strong attention to detail.
