Job Description

As a Data Solutions Architect

You are responsible for developing data centric solutions for Northern Trust's Enterprise wise Master Data Management Data hub team

You have passion for data and technical expertise that allows you to work on both a strategic and tactical level and application development projects.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

• Thorough experience & knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) AE, preferably IBM MDM.

• Good experience of the Java Platform, Enterprise API & Java programming experience

• Excellent knowledge and ground experience in data analysis, troubleshooting complex data issues and data mining.

• Knowledge of full stack technologies e.g. Microservices, ReactJS & Kafka

• Initiative, the ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly. Python and Snowflake experience is a plus

• Experience in designing and building database

• Presentation and communication skills for both technical and business audiences

• Experience working with stakeholders to identify requirements and how they fit into the broader enterprise context

• Knowledge of Scrum/Agile development methodology and experience with UML diagrams Our tech stack: Spring Boot Microservices / Java Hibernate/ ORM / ReactJS / Kafka / JMS / Junit / Oracle / DataStage / Pivotal Cloud Foundry

As a partner on the Master Data Services team, you will be an integral part of one of our nimble and agile cross-functional teams innovating an entire industry. As a Data Solutions Architect, you will:

• Be involved in the full software development lifecycle and design, code, implement, and test new features/modules

• Work collaboratively with other Developers, Architects and Testing teams to enhance the current product and fix defects

• Partner with the business on requirements for product enhancements and conduct system analysis and design

• Create high-level solution architecture and review of detailed technical design documents

• Continuously look for ways to improve the applications' stability, scalability, maintainability and user experience

• Ensure proper coding standards/practices are followed

• Act as the technical consultant on project development/production health, new techniques and the implementation of new processes

• Conduct feasibility studies for complex data processing projects and new technologies
