Data Specialist I - Remote/Hybrid

At Neogen, our Data Specialists focus on analyzing data so our customers can improve the health and production of their animals through our genetics testing. Our team verifies parentage, creates certificates, runs genomic predictions and populates data all with the goal of improving the world's agriculture.
We are currently seeking an individual with both a technical as well as professional communication skillset. This position will coordinate technical support and communication for key customers on behalf of the Data Services department when needed. This position will also be focused on parentage reporting to our commercial clients.
Location: This role will have the option of working a hybrid schedule if located near Lincoln, NE or fully remote.
The Data Specialist I will perform a variety of tasks. These tasks include:
- Day-to-day generation of internal and external database reports in a variety of formats for the purpose of customer delivery
- Technical investigation, or internal efficiency
- Serve as the primary technical informatics contact for multiple key customers.
- Support the Data Services department in the development of new products or processes when requested.

- Great communicators. We work closely with Neogen's sales and customer services teams to assist customers and provide technical support.
- Detail oriented. Neogen is an ISO accredited facility and quality is of upmost importance. We're looking for team members that can dive into the details, troubleshoot, and follow standard operating procedures.
- Technically minded. We love data! Our team utilizes various data systems and queries to meet the needs of our customers.
- Adaptable. Genomics is a rapidly growing and ever-changing field. We are constantly investing time and money to continuously improve and adapt our technologies and processes to meet our customers demands. Educational Requirements: Bachelors of Science preferred.
Technical Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have strong computer skills and proficient knowledge of Microsoft software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Hours: Monday- Friday 9am- 5pm
