Data Technician Intern

We get it. Data can be a headache to find, messy to use, and difficult to make sense of. At mySidewalk, our mission is to democratize data storytelling and equip Changemakers with tools to build stronger communities. No matter which area our customers work in or the kind of community they serve, mySidewalk has the most relevant data from trusted sources and the tools that make it easy for them to tell powerful stories about missions that matter most to their communities.

Our future Data Technician Intern will help us to keep the data in our customers’ community data dashboards up-to-date, as well as help improve some of our processes and practices around updating customer data. 

• Pulling, cleaning, transforming, and updating data that is used in customer dashboards. Our customers’ dashboards cover a range of topics, including Community Health Assessments, Economic Development, Transportation, Substance Use Disorder, and more
• Updating documentation 
• Helping improve our data and documentation practices and processes

• Background in or studying community health, sociology, economics, urban planning, transportation, or related field.
• Are exceptionally detail- and process-oriented 
• Have experience cleaning data 
• Some knowledge of Python or other coding languages (or are willing to learn)
• Are communicative and comfortable asking questions/asking for help 
• Comfortable working in both a team environment and independently
