Summary
The Data & Back-End Developer is a part of the Bank's Technology Development Team and is responsible for the Bank's integration and data-science software development projects to meet the new stage of the Bank's digitalization and automation initiatives.
Responsibilities

• Develop and evolve integration components between the bank's partners systems and internal systems
• Design and implement data ingestion and processing strategies to support a data lakehouse
• Analyzes and designs data models, coordinates database development, and performs in-depth data analysis by applying knowledge of data design standards and data quality practices
• Assists in the implementation of technical solutions for data reporting and analytic systems
• Assists with designing and writing test scripts to verify data integrity and application of functionality
• Design and build the best of class resilient solutions using universally accepted programming practices
• Abide by the Bank's best programming practices, coding standards, and design patterns
• Enforce development patterns and best practices through mentorship, code, and design reviews
• Willingness to learn and pick up new technologies when requested
• Work on a complex technical development, prototypes/proof of concepts under the direction of CTO and the VP of Enterprise Application & Automation Enablement
• Closely work with the VP of Enterprise Application & Automation Enablement, and the Director of Project Management to influence the product roadmap for building new features and functionality based on market trends and help the platform stay competitive in the market

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or Engineering, or related field, or significant equivalent experience
• Proficient understanding of traditional back-end languages such as Java and Python
• Proficient understanding of data distribution over the network, e.g.: directly to a database, or through REST or SOAP API over HTTP
• Proficient understanding of testing frameworks and automated tests
• Proficient understanding of database technologies including SQL and NoSQL (document based)
• Proficient understanding of testing frameworks and automated tests
• Familiarity with Enterprise Integration Patterns or any integration framework such as Apache Camel or Mule
• Strong knowledge of data management and processing strategies and architecture such as data lake, data warehouse, and ETL/ELT mechanisms
• Familiarity with data standards and technologies such as Parquet or Avro, Apache Spark, PyTorch
• Good understanding of Git and CI/CD pipelines ecosystem
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services such as S3, RDS, CloudWatch, or Lambda
• Familiarity with observability tools and techniques such as distributed tracing, structured logging, and gathering metrics
• Strong oral and written communication skills with a preference for team-based work
• A desire to work with and contribute to an energetic and engaged team of technology
• Detail-oriented, even when faced with multiple deadlines on multiple projects
• An interest in continuous learning and experimenting in the benefit of delivering value to users
