Data Visualization Engineer
Summary of the role

As a data visualization engineer you will design, develop, test, optimize, and maintain visualizations and business intelligence for airlines around the world.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal and third-party data scientists, data analysts, data engineers, business analysts, and product management to produce sophisticated yet meaningful data presentations
- Develop and maintain data visualization design using best practices
- Convey complex outcomes through concise data driven tools
- Provide feedback around master dimensions to support analytic data requirements
- Assist in data engineering activities (e.g., ELT, processing, modeling, etc.)
- Identify and understand source data systems
- Mentor others
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the data visualization principles including usage of design, color theory, chart types and their applications, different measurement types, accessibility, etc.
- Inclined to act with attention to detail and commitment to quality and most of all a team player
- Comfortable working independently with data customers (e.g., data scientists, data analysts, business analysts, etc.)
- Proficiencies in:
- SQL
- At least one scripting language, preferably Python
- Visualization libraries like Seaborn, Matplotlib, D3.js, etc.
- Agile development, preferably Scrum
- Public cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
- Problem resolution and communication skills
- Highly skilled using Power BI
- Possess at least one of the following:
- Microsoft Certification Power Platform Developer (PL-400) or (PL-300)
- Microsoft Certification Enterprise Data Analyst (DP-500)
- Azure DevOps experience
- Experience working with globally distributed teams
- Skills in other data viz/BI tools like Tableau, Looker, etc.
- Worked with time series DBs, telemetry data, and data streaming. (e.g. Apache Kafka, Splunk, Databricks, Apache Airflow)
