Data Warehouse Engineer

Your Role and Responsibilities
As Data Engineer at IBM you will harness the power of data to unveil captivating stories and intricate patterns. You’ll contribute to data gathering storage and both batch and real-time processing.
Collaborating closely with diverse teams you’ll play an important role in deciding the most suitable data management systems and identifying the crucial data required for insightful analysis. As a Data Engineer you’ll tackle obstacles related to database integration and untangle complex unstructured data sets.

In this role your responsibilities may include:

• Demonstrated proficiency in deploying Snowpipe for data loading through both external and internal staging mechanisms.
• Ability to comprehend requirements and devise solutions utilizing DBT SQL and Snowflake.
• Strong understanding of ETL principles with practical experience in ETL implementation.
• Competence in troubleshooting DBT models using intricate SQL logic pre-post hooks tests SCD implementation snapshots etc.
• Good communication presentation interpersonal and analytical skills
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science Engineering or related field.
• Overall exp of 5+ years and relevant exp upto 3 years in snowflake/SQL

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• A thorough grasp of advanced SQL principles is indispensable.
• Demonstrated expertise in utilizing various Snowflake features such as Snowpipe Streams Tasks Clone multi-cluster warehouse and caching.
• Direct hands-on engagement in loading data into Snowflake using both external and internal stages via Snowpipe.
• Proficiency in data warehousing including the ability to implement and understand star schema snowflake schema fact & dimension tables and data marts.
• Practical familiarity with DBT encompassing DBT cloud macros snapshots tests pre-post hooks and associated functionalities is paramount.
