AnaVation is seeking a Database administrator to join our team and support our mission critical customer in Reston, VA. As our Database admin you will maintain the integrity, security and availability of multiple database(s). Duties include disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring of data. The Database Admin maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database. Evaluates and recommends available database management system (DBMS) products. Performs database and software life-cycle activities to ensure highest level of system performance and availability and compliance with business requirements. Performs Oracle, SQL Server, SYBASE, and other DBMS Database and Application server administration and organizes and formats data for efficient query and storage processes.

Required Qualifications:

• Clearance: Active TS/SCI Clearance
• Education & Years of Experience: Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience related to specific functional area
• Certifications: Currently hold, or be able to attain a CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification AND a CompTIA Cloud+ or equivalent certification.
• Experience working on:
• Working collaboratively across cross-functional teams of all experience levels
• Creating, maintaining, and updating related knowledge management and technical documentation
• Implementing and optimizing database systems, smooth operation, and physical design of databases.
• Understanding of performance tuning of indexes and databases in general.
• Reviewing database designs, supporting system integration, providing backup recovery and making recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
• Maintaining security and integrity controls.
• Developing stored procedures, triggers or other database scripting and queries.
• Experience developing, documenting and enforcing database administration and user standards and procedures.
• Scheduling of database changes, database and transaction log backups, notifications, and database replication.
• Reviews of technical designs, reports, documentation, and other materials to research and implement new database technology.
• Experience supporting AWS cloud hosting of databases.

Desired Qualifications:

• Security certifications: CCNA Security, CySA+, SSCP, or equivalent certification
• CSSP Infrastructure Support (Cloud+, CEH, CySA+, or equivalent certification)
