As a Database Administrator (m/f/x) you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance and optimisation of our PostgreSQL databases. 

Your main tasks will include:

• Installing, configuring and updating PostgreSQL database systems.
• Monitoring database performance and implementing optimisations as required.
• Planning, implementing and training backup and recovery strategies.
• Creating and managing user access rights and security policies.
• Collaborating with and training developers to ensure optimal database designs.
• Performing database tuning and performance analyses.
• Troubleshooting database issues and implementing solutions.
• Developing and implementing data protection policies and best practices.

What we look for:

• University degree in computer science, engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a database administrator with a focus on PostgreSQL.
• Basic understanding of software architecture, especially persistence in distributed systems.
• Ability to weigh and prioritise opportunities, risks and economics of solutions.
• Sound knowledge of SQL and database design.
• Experience in managing highly available and scalable PostgreSQL databases.
• Understanding of security aspects related to databases.
• Ability to analyse complex problems and proactively implement solutions.
• Ability to work in a team and good communication skills.
• Knowledge of automating database tasks is an advantage.
• You speak and write English fluently.
