What you’ll do 

• Manage and engineer the company’s global Relational Database solutions 
• Ensure and enhance the integrity of our mission-critical data offering 
• Innovate and take responsibility for the database environment 
• Troubleshoot and support the databases as part of a global team of DBAs 
• Work closely with other teams to improve and enhance the estate 
• Make and implement recommendations to prevent reoccurring issues and automate manual processes 
• Interface and communicate with all levels of the business, up to and including the Head of Infrastructure and CTO 

You should have 

• 4+ years’ experience as a Database Administrator in a production environment 
• Very good knowledge of MySQL or MariaDB 
• familiarity with Sybase, PostgreSQL or MongoDB useful 
• Experience of database management activities, performance tuning, estate improvement planning and implementation 
• Complex database replication topology support 
• Installation, migration and upgrade experience 
• Backups, Restores, HA and DR skills 
• Database performance tuning 
• Stored Procedures and SQL writing 
• UNIX scripting skills. Strong knowledge of at least one of bash, ksh, perl, ruby, python 
• Awareness of production change management processes and procedures 
• Knowledge of supporting Java applications an advantage
