Database Administrator (Remote)
Job Description
We are looking to add a motivated, diligent Database Administrator to our growing team. The Database Administrator (DBA) plays a key part in developing solutions using the latest relational database technologies to design, develop, and maintain large-scale database projects and provide custom solutions to complex problems. In short, you will be monitoring the performance of our database, normalizing data, implementing controlled changes as necessary, and maximizing query responses while minimizing downtime.

This position is fully remote, with occasional travel to our HQ in Tempe, AZ (less than 20%).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Designs, and develops solutions to further expand our use of data across the organization in accordance with business objectives.
- Implementing the overall design, monitoring, and optimizing of company databases.
- A collaborative resource with business analysts to provide needed data to improve business outcomes.
- Effectively translates use cases and requirements into data models and system design.
- Subject matter expert for data transformation, ETL, data warehouse, and business intelligence reporting related issues, concerns, and needs.
- Identifies, recommends, and actively participates in process improvement and automation opportunities.
- Ensures HIPAA and data privacy, security, and regulatory frameworks and best practices are in place.
- As needed, participate in vetting of new platforms (third-party and/or custom).
What you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field of equivalent experience
- Experience with SQL Server (scripting, indices, views, stored procedures, security, backup, disaster recovery, etc.)
- Experience with third-party data integration
- Knowledge of Microsoft technologies including, but not limited to, Outlook/Exchange, Teams, SharePoint and Office 365
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- A customer focused mentality
- Curiosity and a thirst for learning new technologies
Experience:
- Database management: 5-years
- Microsoft SQL Server: 3-year
- Experience with database solutions hosted in Azure and on-premise
- Experience with enterprise platforms such as ERP, CRM, etc.
- Experience with HIPAA and data privacy, security and regulatory frameworks and best practices (Preferred, Not Required)
- Experience with Progress Openedge database (Preferred, Not Required)
- Experience in reporting and data visualization in Power BI (Preferred, not required)

- The pay range for this is $120,000 - $150,0000 dependent on relevant qualifications and experience.
