The Opportunity

As the company continues to grow we are seeking a Database and Software Engineer to work in our Film and Fluids. The Database and Software Engineer will support both MSSQL Databases and Manufacturing Applications within a complex manufacturing environment as well as developing reporting tools for data visualization. The right candidate to join our team will be able to design, optimize, and troubleshoot databases, Reports and Applications that support critical manufacturing automated equipment and processes. This candidate will work with our OT partner to help maximize uptime on highly automated equipment through design of efficient data flows, continuous improvement of existing databases, and prompt support of database issues in a 24/7 manufacturing facility. This activity will take place in an FDA controlled environment, which requires documentation of processes and changes to processes. May at times also need to assist OT Administrator with Systems and Networking Based troubleshooting and projects.

This position is in Rochester, NY.

The Responsibilities

• Maintain and update current SQL databases .
• Setup and maintain routines to monitor database performance.
• Work with Line Engineering to problem solve issues related to databases.
• Perform root cause failure analysis on equipment failures and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
• Stay current on database design and optimization techniques.
• Work with SSRS and other software to present Reports for Staff.
• Maintain and update current Application Code.

The Individual

• High School Diploma or GED required; Database Administrator (DBA) preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Two years of experience as a database and/or software engineer in industry.
• Experience working within a regulated industry is a plus.
• Knowledge of SCADA systems is strongly desired.
• Application Programming skills in Visual Basic or adjacent object oriented language.
• Required Travel: < 10% travel overall.
