Job Title: Database Architect

JOB DUTIES:

Install and maintain Oracle 19c, 18c & 12cr1 Real Application Cluster (RAC) databases for high availability solutions. Work with RMAN backup & recovery techniques; apply the concepts wherever needed. Design and implement AWS cloud databases, Oracle RDS, MySQL RDS instances and migrating applications and databases to cloud bases architecture. Responsible for patching Oracle Grid Infrastructure and Oracle Home. Perform Schema level and Table level data refreshes from Production to Non-Production environments using Data pump utility. Work on Physical Standby for Stage and Production databases and convert Physical standby to ACTIVE Data Guard for Disaster recovery solutions. Work on Oracle development tools such as Tool for Oracle Application Development (TOAD), SQL developer, SQL* Plus, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM). Design and implement HANA Database environments that would ensure the highest levels of performance and availability. Participate in the implementation process and performance testing of Database Migration from AIX to Linux. Apply PSU Patches and security patches whenever required to fix security bug issues, and to make the database software up to date and perform root cause analysis on any incidents reported and work with Oracle support for a bug fix patch to resolve it. Apply Patches in rolling fashion and upgrade Oracle GRID infrastructure from11g and 12c to 19c. Participate in design, planning and architecture of enterprise databases, disaster recovery, high availability, security, and optimized performance. Participate in and approve final design of logical and physical databases based upon the planned architecture. Review and advise on performance test results and metrics to identify opportunities for infrastructure and application optimization. Plan and guide the implementation of DR & high availability solutions using Oracle 19c/12c Standby Database using Dataguard. Develop and Implement new Exadata Machine features such as smart scan, Flash Logging, Storage Index, HCC and enabling Smart Scan on Exadata Databases. Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets. Perform cross platform Migration from AIX to Linux and Upgrade database from 11g, 12c to 19c using Golden Gate with Zero downtime. Implement 19c/12c Oracle Advanced Security using TDE (Transparent Data Encryption) and enabling Auto Login for the Keystore to secure users PII data by encrypting the schema tablespaces. Responsible for on AWS Database Migration Services for migrating data from Oracle to RDS.

JOB REQUIREMENT:

Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Engineering related or Technical related fields plus 2 years of experience. In lieu of the above, we will also accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Engineering related or Technical related fields plus 5 years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate experience. Foreign degree equivalent is acceptable. We will also accept any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience. Experience to include working with RMAN Backup and recovery; Oracle RAC (Real Application Cluster); Database Migration; Data Pump utility; ACTIVE Data Guard; HANA Database; OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager); AWS cloud databases; Oracle RDS; PSU Patches & security patches.

HOURS: M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

JOB LOCATION: Dallas, Texas. Travel not required, but candidates must be willing to relocate to unanticipated locations across the country per contract demand.
