Designs, develops, modifies, adapts and implements short- and long-term solutions to technology needs through new and existing applications, systems architecture, network systems and applications infrastructure. Reviews system requirements and business processes; codes, tests, debugs, documents and implements software solutions. Provides application software development services typically in a defined project. Develops program logic for new applications or analyzes and modifies logic in existing applications. Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented. May test new software code and typically works in a highly efficient ("Agile") development environment.
 

Database Architect

Key Responsibilities

· Define data models and schema structures for efficient data integration from multiple database

· Develop and manage ETL processes to move data from diverse sources into the Snowflake data warehouse.

· Ensure data quality, consistency, and security throughout the ETL process

· Leverage Snowflake's capabilities for cross-database queries and data sharing to facilitate seamless data integration between sources

Essential

· Experience designing scalable database schemas with good read and write performance

· Develop and manage ETL processes to move data from diverse sources into the Snowflake data warehouse.

· Ensure data quality, consistency, and security throughout the ETL process

· Experience analysing and improving existing database schemas

· Experience of two or more of PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle

· Experience writing performant SQL queries and advising developers on SQL performance and concurrency

· Knowledge and experience of database archive strategies

· Experience in Financial Services environment

Desirable

· Experience querying and writing to databases from systems using Java JDBC

· Experience maintaining database schemas using Liquibase

· Both on premise and AWS RDS experience

· Knowledge of in-memory such as Hazelcast

· Capital Markets background
