Database Developer
Job Description
As Database Developer, you are responsible for Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) functions, creating custom client reports, and consulting on database designs for applications and products. You will serve as a primary technical contact for data tasks and work with Product Development, IT, and Event Services to ensure that all tasks are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Work arrangement can be either a virtual or hybrid.
- This is a US based position, sponsorship not available.
Essential Functions
- Meet with clients to discuss reporting and data needs.
- Develop automated ETL processes using SSIS.
- Build custom reports using SSRS, ad hoc queries, stored procedures, and scheduled jobs.
- Schedule jobs via SQL Server Agent.
- Provide on-call support when assigned events are on-site.
- Provide technical support and training to internal employees and external clients.
- As required, conduct code reviews with other Developers.
Required Technical Skills and Experience
- Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL development.
- Experience with ETL tools and platforms, SSIS preferred.
- Experience utilizing report writing software, such as SSRS, and/or BI tools such as PowerBi, Sisense, Qlik, or Tableau.
- Advanced data concepts desirable (query tuning, advanced stored procedures, dynamic SQL, table and index design).
- Advanced SSIS concepts desirable (variables, loop containers, scripting)
- Ability to use expressions to calculate, group, filter, parameterize, optimize, and format custom reports.
- Strong background in Microsoft Excel.

- Ability to communicate well and professionally with internal staff and clients.
- Must possess both an adeptness to translate end-user requests into technical specifications and the ability to explain intricate technical processes in non-technical terms.
- Excellent time management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Must have the ability to handle challenging situations, multi-task, and perform within tight time constraints.
- Must be committed to learning new skills and adapting to changing technologies.
Education
- 4-year technical degree or equivalent related work experience required.
