Database Developer

As Database Developer, you are responsible for Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) functions, creating custom client reports, and consulting on database designs for applications and products. You will serve as a primary technical contact for data tasks and work with Product Development, IT, and Event Services to ensure that all tasks are completed in an accurate and timely manner.

• Work arrangement can be either a virtual or hybrid.
• This is a US based position, sponsorship not available.

Essential Functions

• Meet with clients to discuss reporting and data needs.
• Develop automated ETL processes using SSIS.
• Build custom reports using SSRS, ad hoc queries, stored procedures, and scheduled jobs.
• Schedule jobs via SQL Server Agent.
• Provide on-call support when assigned events are on-site.
• Provide technical support and training to internal employees and external clients.
• As required, conduct code reviews with other Developers.

Required Technical Skills and Experience

• Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL development.
• Experience with ETL tools and platforms, SSIS preferred.
• Experience utilizing report writing software, such as SSRS, and/or BI tools such as PowerBi, Sisense, Qlik, or Tableau.
• Advanced data concepts desirable (query tuning, advanced stored procedures, dynamic SQL, table and index design).
• Advanced SSIS concepts desirable (variables, loop containers, scripting)
• Ability to use expressions to calculate, group, filter, parameterize, optimize, and format custom reports.
• Strong background in Microsoft Excel.

• Must be committed to learning new skills and adapting to changing technologies.

Education

• 4-year technical degree or equivalent related work experience required.
