Your Role and Responsibilities
As an Oracle Database Engineer you would Design plan and execute Oracle DB/RAC certification projects. As part of this you would have to run standard Oracle certification suites on different generation of Power servers. You may also from time to time create Ansible playbooks to automate the deployment. You may also need to help other stakeholder teams with their Oracle specific issues.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Design plan execute Oracle DB/RAC certification projects.
• Work with Oracle to agree on specific test details including new technology new product features and/or platform variations.
• Lead and execute the certification projects that meet requirements including performance.
• Engage and interface with developers to resolve defects by providing detailed tracing and analysis.
• Document experience gained as configuration recommendation or best practices.
• Support tool using Perl/Shell to summarize and analyze statistics/components in the certification test results

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 4 – 8 years of relevant industry experience
• Must have experience in Oracle RAC Database & Clusterware management
• Skills with Oracle certification process IBM Power and Oracle DB in these areas:
• Experienced in Oracle certification process.
• Networking technology: UDP-IP TCP-IP Fibre Channel storage protocol behaviours.
• Network tools and programs: DNS DHCP OpenVPN router tcpdump iptables
• Server sizing capacity planning.
• Hardware software network storage performance characterization analysis and tuning
• Software and hardware installation troubleshooting debugging
• Programming: Shell Perl Ansible etc
• OS: AIX Linux

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• IBM Middleware including PowerHA and IBM Spectrum Scale
• IBM virtualization technology: PowerVM PowerHA AME DLPAR
• IBM Storage servers: DS5000 V7000 XIV
• Experience in infrastructure update and server consolidation projects.
