This role plays a crucial part in ensuring application uptime and enhancing performance through innovative solutions and proactive monitoring. The Senior Database Engineer will act as a mentor while collaborating with delivery teams to drive technology advancements. Accountabilities

  • Design and maintain secure, high-availability database environments across Azure and on-prem platforms.
  • Develop automated processes using SQL, PowerShell, and Infrastructure-as-Code to streamline operations.
  • Deliver impactful solutions using SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, and Azure Data Factory.
  • Enhance CI/CD practices for database artifacts and ensure smooth deployments.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance using SQL Server Profiler and Query Store.
  • Provide expert support for complex issues affecting system performance.
  • Mentor junior engineers and guide delivery teams in best practices.
  • Collaborate with architects to define technology roadmaps and drive innovation.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for system performance improvements.
  • Foster collaboration and share knowledge with the engineering community.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical or business discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a database engineer with at least 2 years in CI/CD.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2019 and newer) and high availability strategies.
  • Proficiency in T-SQL development and performance tuning.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across various database tools and RDBMS.
  • Experience with Cloud Platforms and automation using PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with advanced SQL language concepts and Oracle databases is a plus.
  • Experience in working with large datasets and data warehousing.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and performance tools.
  • Microsoft Certified Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent certification is preferred.
