SUMMARYAgile Defense is seeking a talented Senior Systems/Database Engineer to join our team! On this project, you will support Rapid Development and Innovation with technical and system engineering Advisory & Assistance Services (A&AS). These services include cyber capability discovery, development, testing, advanced analytics, lifecycle support, data science needed to meet dynamic cyber mission requirements for our government customer.
In this role, you will be working as part of the Capability Discovery team where you will review basic and applied research in a wide variety of scientific and engineering fields with a goal of exploiting new knowledge to enhance-and where possible, transform-future Cyber capabilities; pursue identification, definition, and documentation of cyber operational concepts leading to the creation of system requirements and/or specifications; and perform activities that focus on collecting, analyzing, synthesizing /processing, and disseminating scientific and technical information that can support USCYBERCOM mission requirements.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate, develop, and deliver technical input to the systems engineering process.
- Develop technical documentation, system architecture, and system design documentation.
- Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts.
- Oversee the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility.
- Communicate with other program personnel, Government overseers, and senior executives.
- Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans.
- Analyze complex information and independently takes appropriate actions to resolve problems.
- Provide engineering guidance to technical staff and establishes effective working relationships with other Government agencies and mission partners.
- Deliver briefings on complex topics to groups, which may include high-level decision makers.
- Work complex research projects as senior contributors and as part of an integrated research team.
- Design and deliver solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Certifications
- Active CISSP, CASP+CE, CSSLP certification (minimum DoD 8570 IASAE Level II Certification)
Education, Background, and Years of Experience
- Meets one of the following bullets with 1) a degree from an accredited college or university in System Engineering or related discipline and 2) years of experience as a System Engineer or related fields:
- Minimum of 10 years with a Master's degree.
- Minimum of 12 years with a Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of 16 years of experience with an Associate's Degree or HS Diploma.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills
- Exposure to Cloud/AWS.
- A problem solver who can get in, be given a project, and use engineering skills to determine a solution.
- Knowledge of DoD Architecture Framework (DODAF).
- Able to build systems from the ground up - network architecture/systems engineering.
Preferred Skills
- USCYBERCOM Experience
WORKING CONDITIONS
Environmental Conditions
- Customer/Government site with 0%-10% travel possible. Possible off-hours work to support releases and outages. General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are not hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
Strength Demands
- Sedentary - 10 lbs. Maximum lifting, occasional lift/carry of small articles. Some occasional walking or standing may be required. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
