Database Engineer/Administrator

Global Dimensions is currently seeking a Database Engineer in Quantico, VA.

In this position, the candidate will:

• Apply knowledge to ensure database solution development considers security, backup, and recovery.
• Provide expertise as data engineer to design, develop, and implement database solutions as needed to meet Client evolving requirements to include design, architecture, and configuration management.
• Provide expertise as a data engineer to perform moderately complex analytic designs, developments, testing, and debugging of computer software and dataset developmental tools.
• In collaboration with databased development team, ensure databases are optimized to integrate with data capture and data analysis tools/techniques.
• Provide expertise in the development, testing, and debugging of computer software.

• Inform Client on optimum storage requirements, source analysis throughout development and use.
• Assist in maintaining existing and new database elements and produce reports to meet Client oversight and metrics requirements.
• Provide technical consult, oral and written reports to non-technical users on the design, development and implementation of a database solution.
• Perform as privileged access user, system administrator, or other function to satisfy Information Assurance (IA), and system administrative requirements. This includes but is not limited to updating training certs and documents as needed to maintain privileges/access.
• Provide input and assist in the development, management, and implementation of office SOPs.
• Provide weekly activity reports as necessary.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship
• BA in computer science or other related field and 10+ years of experience.
• Experience with common data science toolkits such as Apache Hadoop, Statistical Analysis Systems (SAS) and Tableau.
• Experience with programming language such as Python, R, Perl C++, and SQL.
• Experience with data visualization technologies such as Tableau, PowerBI, QlikSense, Grafana or Kibana.
• Current TS/SCI security clearance
