As a Database Manager, you will collaborate with all levels of the enterprise, Information Technology, Institutes, non-clinical support staff and outside vendors to oversee implementation and administration of the enterprise information management system.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with content experts to design and revise the configuration, layout and entry screens for the various modules within the information system.
  • Organizes and facilitate module Data Field mapping.
  • Makes additions and deletions when required.
  • Ensures accurate data conversion for upgrades, program enhancements or new systems.
  • Defines database security measures and hierarchies.
  • Monitors and grants access to module components.
  • Ensures back up system is functional and periodically tested.
  • Maintains archive materials.
  • Audits data sets and reports to ensure completeness, consistency and accuracy. Serves as a key CCHS liaison with information system software vendors.
  • Supervises vendor activities and monitors system software vendors adherence to established milestones and program commitments.
  • Coordinates links between information system and other information systems and databases.
  • Coordinates and assist in the development and implementation of user training and educational programs.
  • Develops standard and custom reports to facilitate data analysis and trending.
  • Develops presentations and graphics regarding the information system functionality.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Broad knowledge of operating databases and information systems.

Certifications:

  • None required

Complexity of Work:

  • Must have aptitude and patience for detail, accuracy and data completeness.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be service oriented.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of four years of database experience.
  • Health care environment preferred.
  • Web and desktop database administration and analysis required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SQL experience
  • Programming experience
  • Database management experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
