Job Description
Within AIG's Information Security Office, Security Engineering is responsible for building core security products and features. We are looking for a highly motivated database security engineer that has experience implementing and managing database security products in a large database environment. This position will implement, develop, and test database security tools and process to provide controls and security to the database environment. This position works closely with the database and security engineering teams for requirements gathering to turn them into effective processes, monitoring, alerting, and reporting solutions.
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of database security solutions, database administration, or a combination of both
- Knowledge of data protection controls
- Experience with Cloud, systems, and database security
- Familiarity with financial industry regulations such as SOX, NYDFS, and PCI
- Understanding secure development life cycle methodologies
- Knowledge of CIS baselines
- Excellent team skills with a versatile skill set
- Strong organizational, excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are needed to work effectively with a wide variety of staff, outside consultants, and vendors
- Consistently demonstrates high standards by adhering to AIG's core values (Take Ownership, Set the Standard, Win Together, Be an Ally, Do What's Right)
Desired Qualifications:
- Previous hands-on experience with MSSQL, Oracle, Sybase, DB2, or PostgreSQL
- Experience writing basic SQL queries
- Familiarity with various operating systems to include (Linux, AIX, Solaris, Windows, zOS)
- Experience with Tanium
- Industry security certifications such as: CISSP, CISM, CCSK, or Security+
Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance on configuring and implementing database monitoring policies
- Maintain and upgrade database monitoring tools
- Keep up to date with vulnerability findings and other company standards
- Provide analysis on alerts and reports generated by database security solutions
- Monitor progress, manage risk, and ensure key stakeholders stay informed on projects
- Ensure SLAs are adhered to
- Provide regular metrics to show security tool coverage and identify gaps
- Communicate professionally and effectively at all organizational levels
- Acts as a consultant to businesses on a variety of database security topics including implementation, enhancements, and sustainment
