Summary
Reporting to the Manager of Database Services, the Database Software Engineer will primarily be responsible for code development within SQL Server 2014 thru 2019 versions. The role requires knowledge in the ETL/Data Warehouse space. The successful candidate for this position will be analytical and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and problem solve. Additionally, they must be highly skilled in working with business users, external parties, and other technology groups (developers, network, system admins, etc.).

Responsibilities
- Create technical designs within the existing architecture and develop complex SQL query logic to accomplish the task. Should be competent to complete most development requests.
- Exhibit very strong skills in OLTP database design, T-SQL development, including query optimization, building, and modifying stored procedures, functions, triggers, ad hoc queries and creating tables and views
- Consult with and advise management and multiple clients on high-impact data or database management issues, influencing strategic direction.
- Conduct performance tuning against SQL queries, stored procedures, and ad hoc queries as well as imbedded code in an SSIS/SSRP pipeline.
- Hands-on exposure NoSQL or Big Data is preferred.
- Ensure that database security is effectively managed, and policies are reviewed on a regular basis.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- Strong experience developing code within SQL Server 2012 thru 2019 editions.
- Expert in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Insight into Microsoft technologies [ASP.NET, C#, etc.] and Object-Oriented development concepts is preferred.
- Experience utilizing XML structures within data stores is required.
- Ability to interact with Source Control repositories (GitHub) is required.
- Hands-on experience with Windows PowerShell is preferred.
- Consult with and advise management and multiple clients on high-impact data or database management issues, influencing strategic direction.
- Experience working with MS Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse environments.
- ETL tool development experience (SSIS - SQL Server Integration Services) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ETL processes, text parsing/regular expressions, JSON and PowerShell scripting on Windows.
- Minimum experience of 3-5 years required with SSIS.
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
- Experience with the legal/court system is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. Relevant business management systems such as general ledger, HRIS, CRM, etc. is preferred
- Experience with background screening is preferred.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
- Certifications or licensure: Azure Administrator Associate, Database Administrator Associate, and Data Analyst Associate certifications. Driver's license and ability to maintain a driving record that is satisfactory to the Company's liability insurance carrier is required.
