Database Systems Engineer

Our Platform is able to analyze the info of more than 1.000 retailers, processing data from more than 600.000 brands, tracking millions of products!
You will be part of the Backend Team, where you will develop the processes and tools to keep that pipeline of data in excellent shape, fresh and available. Our systems ingest data for thousands of products per second, and your job will be to keep that throughput high, while delivering low-latency analytics to our customers.
What You'll Do:

• Build and operate highly scalable, high-throughput systems supporting our applications, both internal and customer-facing.
• Optimize our data platform to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Conduct performance analysis and tuning, removing bottlenecks in our services and getting down to the low-level when necessary.
• Take ownership of relevant parts of our system, identifying new features and improvements.
• Coordinate joint initiatives, communicating with other teams.
• Mentor and support more junior members of the team and organization.

Your Skills:

• 5+ years of experience working as a software engineer, preferably with a proven track record of leading database initiatives within complex, large-scale environments.
• Advanced SQL skills (mainly PostgreSQL), including experience in query optimization and data modeling, both in OLTP and OLAP systems.
• Significant Python knowledge. Familiarity with Django and Celery would be a plus.
• Experience with AWS or similar cloud providers, using technologies like RDS, EC2 or EMR.
• Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, AWS ECS) and IaC tools (Terraform) is desirable.
