Your Role and Responsibilities

Responsibilities
As the Manager responsible for
one of the Sydney datacenters
in IBM Cloud’s global footprint you will oversee local performance in several areas including but not limited to:

  • Appropriate staffing of a 24/7 mission-critical facility
  • Maintaining hardware asset stock levels to fulfill forecast sales
  • Providing an exceptional Customer Service experience
  • Ensuring that local & global security standards both physical and logical are maintained
  • Training and mentoring a team with a range of experience and skills

While your teams will maintain 24/7 coverage at the site you manage you will still be expected to maintain a positive work-life balance so you can stay fresh and focused. To support this you will work in concert with your colleagues over the world to provide leadership to the business around the clock.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience in team management including performance management motivation and mentoring
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems cloud computing datacentre networking virtualization and server application ecosystems
  • A hands-on approach with a willingness to be involved with and lead your team directly in day-to-day operations including participating in physical datacenter activities and projects
  • Be an Australian citizen a to obtain a higher AGSVA security clearance e.g. NV1 or NV2 if required due to the nature of our clients


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience in Change Management
  • Metrics recording reporting and analysis including hands-on BI tool experience
  • Audit & compliance standards including PCI DSS SOC2 and others
  • Familiarity with modern ticketing systems especially ServiceNow
  • A keen sense for what it takes to provide exceptional Customer Service
  • A deep understanding of modern x86 server hardware architecture and configuration options
  • A thorough understanding of power cooling and security concepts as they apply to enterprise datacentres
  • Liaison with and representing your team’s interests to stakeholders from disparate parts of the business from Sales to Networking from Human
  • Resources to your own global leadership team
  • Working in a process-oriented business adhering to and contributing to continuous improvement of organisational process and policy documentation
