DataStage Developer

Introduction
DataStage Developers at IBM play a crucial role in designing coding testing and delivering industry-leading data integration solutions. Whether working on projects internally or for clients DataStage Developers contribute to the success of IBM and our clients worldwide. You’ll utilize the latest data integration tools techniques and approaches collaborating with top minds in the industry to deliver solutions that drive business value.

Your Role and Responsibilities
As a DataStage Developer you’ll provide implementation services to IBM customers. Your responsibilities will include

• Collaborating with IBM project teams and clients to understand development requirements.
• Designing and configuring DataStage solutions in line with technical specifications.
• Developing and implementing custom ETL jobs using DataStage.
• Maintaining and updating custom ETL jobs as needed due to software upgrades or modified requirements.
• Documenting configurations custom code and ETL processes.
• Supporting customers in testing DataStage solutions.
• Work primarily be conducted remotely with occasional travel required.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Minimum 2 year of experience with IBM DataStage and overall 3-4 years of experience in data integration.
• Proficiency in IBM DataStage development migrations and administration.
• Good to have Python coding skills and experience.
• Experience working with Databases and SQL scripting
• Experience in shell script development
• Customer-focused mindset with the ability to set expectations meet deadlines and communicate effectively with clients.
• Strong problem-solving abilities including technical diagnosis and resolution.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience with frontend development such as React JS or Carbon
• Knowledge / Understanding on Data Governance & Products
• Excellent English language skills (both written and spoken).
• Knowledge and experience on IBM Cloud Pak for Data OpenShift platform WatsonX
