What You'll Do
The Operations Manager is directly responsible for overseeing the Inbound and Packout departments for the Redlands Distribution Center. The Operations Manager will utilize continuous improvement strategies and ensure transportation and distribution policies are aligned with the Company's overall business plan. This position will also be responsible for driving major efficiency improvements within the distribution operations across all functions.
This role begins at 5:00 AM, Monday - Friday and occasionally may be needed on weekends.
  • Oversees Inbound functions such as container offloading, put-away, and dock checks in accordance with business needs and within the system
  • Trains and supports Inbound team by maintaining SOPs and continuously creating and implementing process improvements
  • Oversees Packout departments, including the rework and inspection functions
  • Manages, mentors, and coaches Inbound and Packout teams to ensure KPIs are achieved and harbor an encouraging environment
  • Provides necessary status updates to DC Management regarding completed and pending/queued items
  • Communicates with Planners and other key partners to ensure proper documentation of all work
  • Completes receipts in a timely manner within the system and sends communication when necessary
  • Maintains a safe environment with relevant and useful safety training for staff along with proper reporting according to Company policies
  • Determines proper staffing levels within the functional area based on the volume and type of work to be completed daily and make recommendations
  • Assists in the management of the temporary staffing plans on a daily basis to ensure adequate resources are available to execute the necessary activities while optimizing productivity and costs
  • Analyzes all functional activities and proposes cost savings improvements. Manages costs within budget, and as agreed with the Operations Senior Management team
  • Maintains and enforces appropriate policies and procedures to ensure accurate information is recorded in Oracle in a timely manner
  • Monitors the work performance of each employee to ensure that quality and quantity expectations are met and exceeded
  • Provides ongoing training/retraining of employees to ensure that they are prepared to meet or exceed the productivity standards for their function
  • Holds team members accountable with appropriate coaching and documentation that uphold Company policies
  • Other duties may be assigned

Bring It!
  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or comparable experience preferred
  • 10 plus years prior supervisory experience in a distribution/manufacturing environment
  • OSHA certification highly preferred.
  • Must have a strong understanding of Inbound/Receiving operations as well as all other functions throughout the distribution center (Outbound, Inventory, Replenishment, Shipping/Transportation, E-Commerce)
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS); Experience with Oracle WMS is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of good warehouse practices and principles, OSHA regulations, and efficient packing/repacking methods
  • Strong computer skills (PC and main frame applications)
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and has the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus

Salary range: $75,000 - 85,000 annually
