Role Summary
Delivers specific delegated Enrollment/Billing tasks assigned by a supervisor. Provides financial related support for banking and/or billing related functions to new and/or existing accounts. Sets up, manages, reconciles, processes, and/or balances bank and/or customer accounts. Researches problems and negotiates with internal/external customers, banks, vendors, and/or partners to resolve moderately complex issues. Creates, analyzes, and responds to standard and/or non-standard reports. Researches and identifies trends and develops and implements methods to improve results. May support larger markets and/or National Accounts. Completes day-to-day enrollment/billing tasks without immediate supervision, but has ready access to advice from more experienced team members. Tasks involve a degree of forward planning and anticipation of needs/issues. Resolves non-routine issues escalated from more junior team members.
Responsibilities
- The Unit's primary responsibility is the set up and maintenance of Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) for Health Care Providers (HCP), Brokers and Members.
- Account reconciliations using vendor reconciliation package.
- Analyze reporting to determine discrepancies and make appropriate corrections.
- Ensure timely replacement payments are made after an EFT failure.
- Manage 9 month outstanding checks.
- Research reported check fraud issues.
- Manage age void check requests.
- Manage check copy requests.
- Research and resolution of Provider, Member and Broker questions and issues.
- Support Banking operations as needed, including solutions to bottleneck situations that occasionally emerge that impact Providers, Brokers and Members.
- Support the development, implementation, training, and maintenance of banking-related business controls and best practices.
- Understand and interpret how the business works, including but not limited to Billing, Banking, Eligibility, and other related functions. This role needs to learn, absorb, and interpret how the business runs in order to convert that understanding into simple, useful analytical and reporting solutions. Initial assignments may focus on routine reporting maintenance as a vehicle for learning the business.
- Analyze and interpret complex financial information. Utilize independent judgment and discretion, identify trends, variances, and key issues and provide recommendations on how data and trends should be crisply presented.
- Actively lead and participate in team/enterprise projects and initiatives from a business and technical perspective in an effort for continuous team/process improvement.
- Required to develop, lead, or support complex project plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance or related field and 2-4 years of financial analysis or related experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio) and SharePoint
- Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills as well as attention to detail.
- Must have the ability to work independently.
- Drive for results, comfortable and effective in dealing with ambiguity, succeeds in resolving conflict, and adjusts to team and organizational chemistry. Able to get things done in an environment where most partners are remote/virtual.
- Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively work with and influence various internal partners at different levels.
- Flexibility in periodic overtime.
- Experience in a Billing/Banking operations preferred
- May need knowledge of multiple systems. General knowledge of insurance products, procedures, and systems for specific functional area. May support multiple products and/or accounts.
For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate of $18 - $27, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
