The Impact You’ll Make

As a Deal Desk Lead, you will be responsible for leading our Deal Desk function, systems, and processes. You will create the playbook for ensuring all deals efficiently and effectively move through the sales cycle and billing process while making sure they adhere to our compliance policies. You will be a hands-on leader working across Billing, Sales, Ad Solutions, Sales Ops, Legal, Pricing, and Systems. You will lead the charge to revamp the pre-sales process where applicable in partnership with Sales Ops and Ad Solutions. You will help facilitate the collection of complete and accurate information during customer onboarding, review deal terms, media plans and conditions prior to executing campaigns, to ensure our IO and order management system are in sync for a successful campaign. You will act as the liaison across teams for custom billing scenarios, and perform other critical administrative steps to ensure accurate billing and SOX compliance. You will bring prior experience of establishing a deal desk function at a prior and relevant company and will set the course for this function at Nextdoor.

  • Act as a liaison between Finance, Legal, Sales to ensure completeness of customer onboarding
  • Train and work closely with sales teams to make sure everyone is aware of the process and constructs, and to quickly execute on deals that are in the pipeline
  • Review and approve added value, below minimum spend, make goods, measurements studies, and create programs
  • Complete review of billing information such as agency and advertiser hierarchies, PO requirements, and third party terms
  • Monitor spend limits, credit approvals, IO accuracy and SFDC hygiene
  • Review media plan to ensure order management systems aligns to IO and billing
  • Manage revised IO process and facilitate accurate billing of custom deals at month end
  • Partner cross functionally to improve process and system automation for scale
  • Propose best in class solutions for efficient, scalable and accurate order management
  • Be proactive in identifying process inefficiencies and offer suggestions for improvements
What You’ll Bring To The Team
  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • 10+ years of experience in Deal Desk, Business Operations, Finance and/or Revenue Accounting roles of increasing responsibility
  • Experience in dealing with sales organization and cross communication with sales team and outside vendors
  • Knowledge of credit and collection policies and principles
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Works well in a fast paced, public company environment
  • Keen attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Solid organizational and short-term planning skills
  • Professional, positive, and tactful demeanor with clients and customers
  • Self-directed, able to perform responsibilities independently with minimal direction
  • Strong desire to be a team player and help in whatever capacity possible

Rewards

Compensation, benefits, perks, and recognition programs at Nextdoor come together to create one overall rewards package.

The starting salary for this role is expected to range from $157,000 to $260,000 on an annualized basis, or potentially greater in the event that your 'level' of proficiency exceeds the level expected for the role. Compensation may also vary by geography.

We also expect to award a meaningful equity grant for this role. With equal quarterly vesting, your first vest date would be within the first 3 months of your start date.

Overall, total compensation will vary depending on your relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
