POSITION OVERVIEW

The Agency Debit Balance Specialist will assist in the collection of commission debit balances by running reports and following commission chargebacks through a daily routine. Responsible for maintaining the processes and procedures to minimize risk and future debit balances.  Providing timely and profitable collection of receivables while maintaining professional internal and external relationships.  Providing debit balance information to agents and firms on a regular basis, primarily through phone and email request.  This position will draw upon skills in research, reporting, attention to detail and communication skills.  The Agency Debit Balance Specialist will need to be a self-starter, team player, organized and a quick learner.  Join our Global Atlantic Operations team in Batesville, Indiana.

  • Support a small team in collecting commission chargebacks within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Follow standard guidelines set in place to collect the debt.
  • Make independent decisions and recommendations to management if an exception is appropriate outside standard procedures.
  • Establish and monitor repayment agreements and terms based on financial situations.
  • Identify and follow up on delinquent payment commitments.
  • Develop professional and dependable working relationships across the organization and with external customers.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly detailed debit balance reports.
  • Process weekly payable commission transactions to offset existing debit balances.
  • Coordinate the receipt and posting of debit balance monies received. Post checks and prepare credit card payments.
  • Systematic documentation of daily collection activities is required.
  • Provide timely responses and accurate information on inquires.
  • Meet quality and productivity goals and deadlines for department standards.
  • Work with outside collection agency when internal collection efforts have been exhausted.
  • Support time-sensitive projects based on department goals and initiatives.
  • Support Debit Balance, Commission and Agent Licensing phone queues.
  • Cross train and work across lines of business to back up the Debit Balance, Agent Licensing and Commission teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Motivated self-starter
  • Strong software skills, including Microsoft Office Excel skills
  • Professional phone presence and presentation
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and composure in dealing with difficult situations
  • Ability to validate and communicate the components that makes up a complex debit balance summarization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated team player and ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail, high quality performance and solid productivity skills
  • Demonstrated strong negotiation, persuasion, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet assigned deadlines
  • Prior experience in debt collection a plus
  • Adhere to the Operations Attendance Policy

Global Atlantic’s base salary range is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. The annual base salary range provided in this posting for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country.  Base pay is just one component of Global Atlantic’s total compensation package for employees and at times we hire outside the boundaries of the salary range. Other rewards may include annual cash bonuses, long-term incentives (equity), generous benefits (including immediate vesting on employee contributions to a 401(k), as well as a company match on your contributions), and sales incentives.  Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Compensation for our more senior positions have a larger component of short-term cash bonus and long-term incentives.  The base salary range for this role is $ $32,128 to $ $61,196.
