DEI Manager - Data, Research & Enterprise Solutions
Job Description
The Role: The Data, Research and Enterprise Business unit is searching for a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Manager to drive multiple priorities in collaboration with senior leaders and DEI Champions. The role entails managing projects of varying sizes and complexity within the Business Unit. In this role, you will liaise with members of Research Products, Data Operations, Direct, Data Products, Global Technology as well as with key stakeholders outside of the unit, including Talent & Culture, and Compliance. You will work closely with colleagues across the organization both in the US and globally.
An important subset of the role includes driving the business units' portfolio of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives and cultivating a culture with DEI at its core. As such, the role is a key partner to the President of the Business Unit and other Group leaders in executing global communications, strategic cross-functional projects, DEI initiatives, and employee engagement. The ideal candidate will be passionate about making the Unit a better organization and a more attractive place to build a career.
Role & Responsibility:• Lead the Data, Research and Enterprise Business unit's DEI initiatives and employee engagement initiatives, including running the DEI Core team's monthly meetings, enabling managers, and driving accountability and recognition of DEI within the business unit.• Coordinate with the corporate Program Director for DEI, DEI Team, DEI Champions (including regional champions), Employee Resource Groups, Talent Acquisition and HR business partners.• Align quarterly OKRs in collaboration with the DEI Team meetings and produce individual quarterly OKRs that align with the overarching DEI effort• Drive engagement and understanding of our ERGs within the business unit, including tracking Pulse survey results and working with leadership to support engagement with our ERGs• Work with Group leaders to define and measure DEI and engagement OKRs. Including quarterly progress updates.• Define a repeatable process with hiring managers to support our ERG Ambassador program and year-round recruiting by curating and promoting roles to focus on hiring at key events/conferences, including post-event promotion of key notes, best practices and ways to engage with organizations year-round• Cultivate relationships with experienced and executive level diverse talent to drive diverse applicant pools for key roles within the organization.• Independently scope, plan, execute and support long-term, cross-organizational projects, especially (but not exclusively) around DEI, engagement, talent development, and training. Manage relationships internally and externally; serve as an ambassador for Data to key stakeholders.• Communicate DEI progress through town halls, newsletter and leadership updates
Business Stakeholder Requirements:• Bachelor's degree.• 5+ years' experience driving DEI related employee engagement.• At least 3 years in business, research, or project management roles.• Strong interpersonal, leadership, written and oral communication skills.• Excellent communication, time management/organization, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.• High level of self-motivation with ability to own and drive multiple projects at once.• Comfort in dealing with ambiguity, ability to create focus and keep the team focused on business objectives.• Outstanding analytical skills, a high degree of intellectual curiosity, comfortable with data and systems and ability to engage with other senior leaders in addressing complex business issues and making data-driven decisions.• Familiarity with Morningstar research, data, and products is strongly preferred.
